MOON PHASES PROJECT!!!
I just found a really great web site for those students who have not yet started the moon project or are having trouble viewing Luna. This site has multiple pictures of different lunar phases with captions. Be careful not to plagiarize the material, but instead write your own description. Match up the right phase with the right dates on the October moon phase chart, and you’re homefree! (That’s old fashioned for you’ve got it done!)

Updated Links to the Universe!
Try any of these websites. Explore a topic and takes notes, create art, etc., but be sure to give science related information to back up the art and creativity. Put the final work on pages 20 or 30 in your science journal.

Happy “travels” through these websites.

Solar versus Lunar Eclipse Poems
Please email or respond to this post so that I might be able to upload the awesome science poetry you created this week!
Back to School
Welcome back to school! Make it a great first week.
Extra Credit if you (student) responds correctly to the following question:
Write a hypothesis (what you expect to happen) that fits the following problem/question:
Mrs. Richards is doing an experiment to find out which students will get credit for the first assignment. Write a hypothesis that predicts the outcome of this experiment, and be sure to give the reason to support your hypothesis. You may use the format as follows~
If a student _____________________________________________
_______________________________ the first assignment, then he/she
will receive full credit because ____________________________.
Quantum Physics
I am adding this for those of you who want to more about the subtle quantum level of the atom.

A Study of Light and its Wave-like Properties
Students worked cooperatively in lab teams to explore the wave nature of light. Each poster was designed (at school) to convince the reader that light travels in a wave. Presentation allowed students to utilize their knowledge of wave interactions and properties and then apply that to a Common Core convincing argument (in writing).
The results are amazing! Way to go Green Team Sixth Grade Science kids!
Back to School & Resource for the Solar System Unit
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my blog! Hopefully, you will find this interesting and interactive as the year progresses. Science is very exciting for me, and I am always open to new ideas! Please contribute them through the opportunity to comment after each posting. (I may not see comments immediately on “historical postings”, however.)
At any rate, a very helpful question came from a parent at the Orientation meeting this week. He asked if I would be posting resources for current units. So here goes:
