I am so happy to be back at school getting ready to meet all of my new students and their parents. This should be another exciting year, and I can’t wait to get started and dig into the process with you (ALL) as we explore science together. Our first unit will be the study of our place in the universe, beginning with our location in our solar system. Start paying attention to where the moon is located and what phase its in. Like my father once said to me, “I will be looking at the same moon.”
The assignment was to write one thing that they were happy about today!
I woke up and saw my baby brother.
I am happy that I get to see my dad.
I watched my baby brother for my mom.
I got to have another day.
I won a basketball game.
I got a hug.
I had a good lunch.
I am glad that I got all of my class work and homework done.
I ate cereal.
I got to have lunch.
I got to email my friend in North Dakota.
To live life.
I am happy because the day is over.
Today my friend gave me a piece of gum.
I got to show my Power Point to the class in Social Studies.
I had a tasty lunch.
I was with my friends at lunch.
I had a great lunch.
It snowed a few times today! I completed a few things on K? Academy.
I got a yummy cookie for lunch (chocolate chip).
I almost got a friend.
Just thought some of you might like to see what is on the sixth graders’ minds. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Dear Students,
We have been working on summarizing what we have been learning in class to really focus our learning target bulls eyes! Many of you have written great paragraphs about what you’ve learned about atoms, the use of triple beam balances, why you think the metric system is easier – just to name a few. I would like to share these in a bigger format – so here’s the challenge. You may either send them to my e-mail to be submitted for the Learning Target challenge, and/or you can reply to this posting, and send them here as well. I will reward your publication (you can feel famous for your posting) and you receive 3 extra credit points. Let’s get blogging. NOTE: List your first name, last initial, and the class period that you take science to receive credit. Thank you! Mrs. Richards
Please be sure to share your links with me, so that I might share them with your classmates.
Thank you,
Good luck with your research,
Mrs. R.

Great site for tsunamis, and Mariana Trench.
Well, it appears that as the blog was updated to show my new last name, everything that once was posted is now lost. (Big tears if I was younger!)
At any rate, I will try to get in here and update as soon as possible. Suffice it to say, this will take some time. We’ve lost lots of great pictures of kids at work, and great website links.
But, maybe things will be improved. A clean slate, and a new day. Wish me luck. In the meantime, respond with any kid friendly science worthy web site ideas.
